The Dutch-Serbian Business Association, in cooperation with Dutch Embassies in the region and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), successfully organized Balkan Business Day 2025 on 18 September at De Plesman Hotel in The Hague.
This year’s edition brought together more than 100 participants- representatives from government institutions, businesses, and international organizations- for an afternoon of engaging discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking.
A Diverse and Dynamic Program
The event opened with welcoming remarks from the President of the DSBA Wouter van Houwelingen and Dutch Ambassador to Albania Reinout Vos, setting the tone for an afternoon dedicated to collaboration and opportunity.
The program featured panels on the economic outlook of the Western Balkans, inspiring success stories from entrepreneurs already active in the region, and insights into financial instruments and subsidies available to Dutch and regional companies.
Three breakout sessions followed, focusing on key growth sectors:
-
IT & Technology: Beyond outsourcing – building integrated teams and exploring the Balkan innovation engine.
-
Agriculture: Presentation of a regional study on covered agricultural production in the Western Balkans.
-
Water Management: Sharing experiences and new findings on sustainable solutions and disaster risk reduction.
The day concluded with a networking cocktail, where participants continued the conversation in a more informal setting, strengthening business and institutional ties between the Netherlands and the region.
Acknowledgments
The DSBA would like to thank all speakers, moderators, sponsors, and partners for their contributions and support. Special thanks go to the RVO and the Embassies of the Western Balkan countries for their collaboration in making this event possible.
